Tips and troubleshooting

View and performance

  • Grid vs list: Use grid for visual browsing and drag-and-drop; use list for dense editing and folder dropdowns. Your choice is saved.

  • Large libraries: Rely on type filter and search to reduce the list size. Infinite scroll loads more as you go; avoid selecting "Select all" on huge result sets for bulk actions (prefer filtering first).

  • Folder sidebar: Collapse it when you need more space for the grid; expand when you're moving items between folders.

Organization

  • Folder colors: Use colors for priority or category (e.g. Rose = urgent, Blue = client A). Colors are stored per folder in your browser and update instantly.

  • Naming: Keep folder names short and consistent (e.g. "2026-01", "Campaigns") so breadcrumb and sidebar stay readable.

  • Bulk move: Select multiple items and use "Move to folder" once instead of moving one by one.

Upload and move

  • Target folder: Always select the destination folder in the sidebar before uploading or dropping files so new uploads land in the right place.

  • Drag-and-drop: If a drop doesn't work, check that you're dropping on a folder (card or sidebar row) or on "All Media". Not on empty grid space. For folders, drop on "All Media" or another folder to reparent.

  • No page reload: All moves and folder changes update the list in place. If you don't see changes, refresh once; if it persists, check the browser console for API errors.

When to use WP mode

  • Use WP mode when you need a plugin that only runs on the WordPress upload screen (e.g. certain image optimizers or legacy workflows). For normal organizing, uploading, and editing metadata, stay in FleekDash Media.

Errors and refresh

  • "Results outside folder": If you search and see this message, click it to view all search results across folders.

  • Counts or list out of date: After bulk moves or deletes from another tab, refresh the page to resync folder counts and the list.

  • Upload fails: Check file type and size (limits are set by WordPress). If one file fails, others in the same batch may still succeed; check the upload zone for per-file errors.
