Navigate and organize by folder
In grid view, a Folder sidebar appears on the left (or a narrow "show folders" button if the sidebar is closed).
Contents
"All Media" (or "All Photos", etc.) – Top entry. Click to show all media of the current type, regardless of folder. This row is also a drop target: dropping items here moves them out of folders (to "unsorted" / root). Count shown is the total for the current type (or unsorted when "All" and no search).
Folder tree – Hierarchical list of folders. Each folder shows its name and can show a count. Clicking a folder filters the main area to that folder's contents (and subfolders appear in the grid). You can create folder (button or context), rename, delete, and move to root from the sidebar or from the grid folder cards.
Toggle – Button to collapse the sidebar so the grid uses full width; a small "panel" button opens it again.
Creating a folder from the sidebar
A Create folder (or "New folder") control opens the Create Folder dialog. You enter a name and optionally choose a parent folder. On confirm, the folder is created via the API and the tree refreshes. New folders can be created at root or inside another folder.
Benefit: Navigate and organize by folder without leaving the Media page; drop targets in the sidebar make moving items fast.
Breadcrumb and "results outside folder"
Breadcrumb
What it is: A breadcrumb line above the grid (e.g. "All Media > Campaigns > 2026"). Each segment is clickable.
How it works: It reflects the current folder path (and the "All Media" / type label). Clicking a segment updates the filter to that folder (or "all" for the first segment). Built from the flat folder list and current folderId in the page logic.
Benefit: See where you are and jump back to a parent or "All Media" in one click.
"Results outside folder"
When you search, results can include files that live in other folders. If the current view is one folder but the search returned items from elsewhere, a banner can appear: "X results found outside this folder – Click to view all search results." Clicking it clears the folder filter so you see all matching items.
Benefit: Don't miss search hits that aren't in the folder you're viewing.
