Accessibility: keyboard and focus

Built for access from the start

  • Keyboard navigation: You can navigate and act without the mouse. Tab (and Shift+Tab) move focus through interactive elements in a logical order. Buttons, links, form fields, and controls are reachable by keyboard.

  • Activation: Enter or Space activates buttons and toggles. Space often toggles checkboxes or expand/collapse. Enter submits forms or activates primary actions. Standard patterns so power users and assistive-tech users can complete tasks.

  • Visible focus: The focused element has a visible focus indicator (e.g. focus ring or outline). So you always know where focus is. No "focus disappears."

  • Focus order: Focus order follows the visual layout and reading order of the active locale, including the mirrored order when an RTL layout is active. Modals and drawers trap focus and return it when closed so keyboard users don't get lost.

The admin works for keyboard-only users and for assistive technology. Built for access from the start.

In practice

Language Management — keyboard navigation, activation, visible focus, focus order. On this page, Built for access from the start is covered in detail: what it looks like in the admin, the exact controls it exposes, and how it behaves when you use it day to day. Because built for access from the start is part of Multi-language & Accessibility — translated locales, keyboard navigation, screen-reader-friendly structure, and RTL support — the settings you touch here interact with the rest of the feature; when in doubt, open the feature overview and follow the docs in order.
