Tips and troubleshooting

  • Command Bar doesn't open – Ensure you're using Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+K (Mac). If it still doesn't open, try clicking the Search button in the header. Check that no browser extension is capturing the shortcut. If the app is inside an iframe, focus must be in the app for the shortcut to work.

  • No search results – Wait a moment after typing (debounce). If the index is building, the footer may show a progress indicator; wait for it to finish. Try a broader query (e.g. "post" instead of a long phrase). Check Search settings (e.g. synonyms, what's indexed) if available.

  • Preview doesn't show – Preview is often hidden on small screens or for menu/shortcut items. For content items, check Settings → Search for preview behavior options. Ensure the selected item type supports preview.

  • Results are slow – First load or after clearing cache may trigger index build or remote fallback; a short delay is normal. If delay is long, check network and Search API availability. Reduce query length or use synonyms to improve matching.

  • Wrong result opens – Use the preview panel (if visible) to confirm the selected item before pressing Enter. Use Arrow keys to move selection and check the highlight.

  • Search settings not saving – Ensure you click Save (or equivalent) on the Search settings page. If you get an error, check permissions and that the FleekDash Search API is available. Retry after a refresh.
