Common tasks, step by step
Find and open a post
Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K) or click Search in the header. The Command Bar opens.
Type part of the post title or content (e.g. "draft report"). Results appear; posts are in the Posts group.
Use Arrow Down to select the post (optional: check the preview panel). Press Enter. The post opens (e.g. edit screen or view). The Command Bar closes.
Open a screen without the menu
Open the Command Bar (Ctrl+K / Cmd+K or header Search).
Type the screen name (e.g. "users" or "dashboard"). Menu or Shortcuts results show matching items (e.g. "Open Users," "Dashboard").
Select the item and press Enter. You navigate to that screen. No sidebar click needed.
Find a user
Open the Command Bar. Type the user's name or email (e.g. "John" or "john@example.com").
Results include Users group. Select the user and press Enter. The user's profile or the Users screen with that user in context opens (depending on implementation).
Use a recent item
Open the Command Bar. Leave the search field empty or type very little.
A Recent (or similar) section may show recently opened items (posts, pages, screens).
Click or select one and press Enter to open it again. No need to retype the search.
