The Menu Management drawer is the full menu builder for FleekDash. You customize the sidebar menu with live preview: the sidebar updates as you save overrides, so you always see the result without a separate preview window.
Opening the drawer
From the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar → Menu or Customize menu.
From Settings when a menu link is available.
The drawer includes a search field, a role selector (to preview other roles), links to Role management, Sidebar settings, and Reset to default in the footer.
Top-level menu items
Each row represents one sidebar item from WordPress.
Reorder: drag the grip handle to move items up or down.
Rename: use Edit name, type a new label, then confirm. Reset name restores the original WordPress label.
Hide or show: toggle visibility so an item disappears from the sidebar without uninstalling a plugin.
Change icon: open the icon picker and choose from the active theme library. Reset clears your custom icon.
Inherited / Edited badges: show when a lower role inherits overrides from a higher role, or when you changed that row.
Overrides save automatically. The sidebar reflects them right away.
Submenus
Parent items that have children show a chevron and a count of submenus.
Click Show submenus on the parent row to expand the list inside the same card.
Reorder, rename, hide, and change icons on submenu rows the same way as top-level items.
Badges on the parent summarize how many submenus are hidden or renamed.
Collapse the parent with Hide submenus when you are done.
While a parent is expanded, its row cannot be dragged. Collapse it first to reorder top-level items.
You can also add spacing inside a submenu (see below).
Spacing and section titles
Use spacing blocks to group related items and add vertical gaps in the sidebar.
Add spacing: hover between two rows and choose Add spacing on the insert slot (works at the top level and inside submenus).
Section title: click Edit section title on a spacing row and type a label (for example Content, Store, or Settings). The label appears in the sidebar above that group.
Height: drag the slider on the spacing row to control how much gap appears in the sidebar.
Hide line: toggle the eye control to hide only the divider line while keeping the gap.
Remove spacing: delete the spacing row when you no longer need it.
Section titles and spacing appear in the live sidebar preview like any other override.
Role preview
Use the role dropdown at the top of the drawer to simulate another WordPress role while you edit.
Lower roles can inherit menu structure and labels from higher roles.
Switch roles to confirm what each team sees before you close the drawer.
When you close the drawer, the sidebar returns to your role automatically.
Open Role management from the drawer footer to add or edit roles without leaving Menu Management.
Sidebar settings
Click Sidebar settings in the drawer footer to open a modal with site-wide defaults.
Sidebar defaults apply to everyone who has not changed these options from the sidebar gear menu:
Floating style
Dark sidebar style
Auto-hide
WordPress-style parent clicks (click a parent item to open its first submenu page, like classic wp-admin)
Sidebar layout applies to all users and is not available from the sidebar gear menu:

Popover submenus (submenus open in a popover instead of expanding inline)
If some users already changed the sidebar on their own, an info banner shows how many local overrides exist. Remove all clears those personal tweaks so site defaults apply again.
Search, reset, and live preview
Search filters menu rows by name. Matching rows highlight and the list scrolls to the first hit.
Reset to default asks for confirmation, then clears all overrides for the selected role and restores the original WordPress menu.
The sidebar is the preview. Reorder, rename, hide, add spacing, or restyle icons and the sidebar updates as overrides save.
Shortcuts
Available on every sidebar item (main items, submenus, collapsed popover items). Added in 2.6.3.
Click and hold means pressing the mouse button on a menu item and keeping it down for about 750 ms before release. Same idea as long press on a touchscreen, but with a mouse or trackpad.

Use click for everyday in-shell navigation. Use click and hold or middle-click to open full WordPress admin in its own tab while FleekDash stays open in the current tab. Use Ctrl/Cmd + click and hold for classic admin on that menu item only (toolbar Classic mode, but per item).
