Keyboard & pointer shortcuts

Overview

Quick reference for global hotkeys, Command Bar keys, sidebar gestures, and shortcuts on specific screens. On Mac, use Cmd where this guide says Ctrl/Cmd.

Most global shortcuts work from the FleekDash shell and from WordPress iframe pages when focus is inside an embedded screen.

Global shortcuts

These work while you are in the FleekDash admin (and from embedded WordPress iframes unless noted).

ShortcutAction
Ctrl/Cmd + K
Open or close the Command Bar (universal search and commands)
/
Focus the sidebar menu search (when you are not typing in an input field)
Alt + T
Toggle light / dark theme for the whole admin
Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + T
Toggle theme for the active window container only (advanced; when a Fleek window is visible)
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + F
From FleekDash: open the matching classic WordPress screen in a new tab. From classic wp-admin (fleekdash=off): switch back to the FleekDash shell
Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + O
Open the public site (frontend) in a new tab
Ctrl/Cmd + Space
Toggle fullscreen for the active Fleek window (WordPress iframe or modal)
Alt + M
Minimize the active window to the minimized-windows list
Alt + W
Close the active window (navigate back or dismiss)
Escape
If the sidebar search field has text, clear search first; otherwise exit fullscreen on the active window

Global shortcuts are ignored while you type in inputs, textareas, or contenteditable fields (except when the Command Bar is open). If a shortcut does nothing, click once inside the FleekDash app so keyboard focus is not trapped in the browser chrome or another extension.

Available on every sidebar item (main items, submenus, collapsed popover items). Added in 2.6.3.

Click and hold means pressing the mouse button on a menu item and keeping it down for about 750 ms before release. Same idea as long press on a touchscreen, but with a mouse or trackpad.

ActionResult
Click
Open that screen inside the FleekDash window (same browser tab)
Ctrl/Cmd + click
Open the same FleekDash route in a new tab
Click and hold (~750 ms)
Open that WordPress screen in a new browser tab (not inside the FleekDash window)
Ctrl/Cmd + click and hold
Open native classic wp-admin for that item (fleekdash=off) in a new tab
Middle-click
Same as click and hold: new browser tab, outside the FleekDash window

Use click for everyday in-shell navigation. Use click and hold or middle-click to open full WordPress admin in its own tab while FleekDash stays open in the current tab. Use Ctrl/Cmd + click and hold for classic admin on that menu item only (toolbar Classic mode, but per item).
