How to move from the old WordPress admin to FleekDash without breaking your flow
You don’t have to choose “all FleekDash” or “all classic” forever. You can switch between the two and build confidence step by step.
Why switching feels safe
Same data, same WordPress – Posts, pages, media, users, and settings stay in WordPress. FleekDash is a different UI over the same backend. Nothing is “moved” or locked in.
Classic admin still there – You can open the classic wp-admin screens anytime (e.g. Plugins, some Settings, or a plugin that only has a classic page). Use FleekDash for daily work and classic when you need it.
No big-bang change – Adopt FleekDash for the tasks you do most; keep using classic for the rest until you’re ready.
Use FleekDash as your daily home
Bookmark the FleekDash entry – e.g. https://yoursite.com/wp-admin/#/ or the “Open FleekDash” link. Use this as your default admin link.
Do your main work in FleekDash – Content (Data Tables & Content), Media (Smart Media Manager), Comments (Comment Manager), Dashboard, and Settings (Settings Center) are all in the sidebar. Use them first.
Only go to classic when needed – For plugin-specific pages, advanced WP settings, or one-off tasks, open the classic admin (e.g. a direct link to wp-admin/edit.php or a plugin menu). When done, return to FleekDash via your bookmark.
Over time, most of your workflow stays in FleekDash and you’ll only leave for the few things that still live in classic.
Build a habit without losing the old one
Same login – One WordPress login; FleekDash and classic share the same session. No second password.
Same permissions – If you could edit posts in classic, you can in FleekDash. Roles and caps are unchanged.
Links and bookmarks – Update your browser bookmarks and any internal links (e.g. “Open admin”) to point to #/ or the main FleekDash Dashboard so the team lands in the new UI by default.
When something is “only in classic”
Some plugins or WordPress areas don’t have a FleekDash screen yet. For those:
Open the classic menu or a direct URL when you need that screen.
Use the Window Manager (if available) to open classic pages inside FleekDash so you don’t leave the app mentally.
Treat classic as the fallback, not the main path, so your flow stays in FleekDash.
Confidence checklist
[ ] You open FleekDash by default and use Dashboard + sidebar for daily work.
[ ] You know how to get back to classic (bookmark or link) when needed.
[ ] You’ve done at least one full task (e.g. publish a post, manage comments) entirely in FleekDash.
[ ] Your team knows the main admin URL is the FleekDash entry (#/) so everyone lands in the same place.
Once this feels normal, clean up the rest of the admin (menus, notices, branding) so it feels like one app.
